Nina Amir joined our August BookBaby Twitter Chat to talk about how a blog can be used as a promotion tool AND as a platform for story development and writing – literally blogging a book.

For the August edition of our #BBchat Twitter chat, we asked author and blogging consultant Nina Amir for her thoughts on how to use blogging to support an author’s writing efforts. We prefaced this month’s chat with some initial pointers to get the conversation started, as well as a brief biography of Nina, which you can check out here.

We frequently hear our literary friends asking how to manage their writing time more effectively, and while blogs often come up in the conversation, the idea of using a blog to build and test material for a new book is not often mentioned. Nina shared her suggestions for posting frequency and word count goals, and even for the busiest of writers, her suggestions are very attainable. At a minimum, she suggests blogging once per week, but for faster results, Nina suggests you “publish posts 2-7 times / week (for the first 9-12 months). If you have large readership, cut back.”

Nina also offers resources, available on her website, for building an effective blog plan. We think you’ll find them useful.
