Self-publishing Budget Advice From Miral Sattar – #BBchat recap

self-publishing budget

Miral Sattar joined our June Twitter chat to talk about setting a self-publishing budget, book marketing, and finding funding for your project.

For the June edition of our #BBchat Twitter chat, we asked a few of our authors and literary friends from around the world, including Miral Sattar (CEO of Bibliocrunch) for thoughts on self-publishing budget strategies, as well as tips for trading services and finding freelance help. We prefaced this month’s chat with some initial pointers to get the conversation started, as well as a brief biography of Miral, which you can check out here.

We frequently hear our author friends asking how to build a budget for their book, and Miral offered a number of ways to answer that question. She has penned two articles for PBS MediaShift on the subject, one detailing “The Real Costs of Self-Publishing a Book” and another explaining “How to Self-Publish Your Book on a Budget.” She also has a cost calculator spreadsheet available for download.

A number of crowdfunding tips and resources for trading services with other literary professionals were also shared; we hope you find them to be useful.
