‘Click to Tweet’ for Authors: Make It Easy for Readers to Tweet Quotes from Your Blog

“Click to Tweet” is a new tool that gives you the ability to easily tweet compelling one-liners from your blog or book

A few days ago, I read about a cool feature for Twitter that gives you the ability to have tweetable highlights, or “teaser tweets.”

Yep, teaser tweets!

Using a generator called “Click to Tweet,” bloggers are able to highlight specific text within their blog posts (like a cool quote or great one liner) and tweet it out to the cyber universe, directing traffic back to said blog.

Readers can click on the Twitter icon (see photo above) within the blog post and it will populate a tweet, giving fans the ability to tweet out that cool quote specifically, with a link back to the full blog post as well. Like this:

So how is the useful to authors? Well, say you have a blog post on your website about your book that includes some intriguing lines from your story, you could use this tool to highlight interesting quotes from your book or blog that become tweetable for fans (click to tweet!).

Ready to try it? Just go to http://clicktotweet.com/ and enter the text you want others to tweet about. It will generate a link for you, which you can then add to your post!
