I love lists. “Best Of,” “Top 10,” “My Favorite,” etc. It’s always interesting to read about what other people are currently enjoying. With that in mind, we thought we would give a little insight into the reading habits of the staff here at BookBaby and offer a list of what pages we are currently turning.
Berlin Stories by Robert Walser
I never really start or stop reading Robert Walser. I just always read him. Walser’s stories are quaint and rambling bits of absurdist poetry. Berlin Stories is a great collection of his short works. – Chris B.
The History of Western Philosophy by Bertrand Russell
Although this book is over a half-century old, it beautifully illustrates how the ancient Greeks influenced Catholic and modern philosophy, and it contextualizes each writer with historical trends and events. Russell writes in a concise, free-wheeling, combative, plain-spoken, extremely-opinionated style, and he’s as good a guide as any. – Brian F.
Rough Cradle by Betsy Sholl
One of the best poetry collections I’ve read in the past couple years, from the former Poet Laureate of Maine. When it’s written about with this level of wild precision and smarts, heartbreak is so much more… heartbreaking. – Chris R.
