BookBaby announces partnerships with two eBook retailers focused on the social aspect of reading and recommending books.
Both Kobo and Copia are great, forward-thinking companies, and we’re proud to add them to our list of distribution partners (including Apple’s iBookstore- for iPad, Amazon- for Kindle, Barnes & Noble- for Nook, and the Sony Store- for Sony Reader).
Here is some more in-depth info about each of them individually.
Publish Your Book on the Kobo eReader!
Get your book selling on the Kobo eReader (includes Kobo Touch, Kobo Wi-Fi, Kobo Vox) and your book will sit on the same virtual shelves as time-honored classics, Pulitzer Prize-winning works and New York Times Best-Sellers.
Kobo is a global eBook retailer that understands reading isn’t just a private activity. With a sharp focus on the social aspect of literature, Kobo encourages readers to recommend and discuss recent reads with other Kobo users. Kobo users can purchase books recommended by friends simply by tapping on the shared book cover from an activity feed. This means that virtually every time someone purchases and reads your book on Kobo, it has the potential to get noticed by hundreds or even thousands of readers.
Kobo carries over 2.3 million eBooks, with customers in over 200 countries. Whether you’re a best-selling author or just about to publish your first novel, BookBaby wants to make your book available to Kobo’s reading community for purchase, for recommending, and for broader discussion.
Due to Kobo’s pricing structure, only books priced between $.99 and $12.99 will be eligible for Kobo distribution.
Copia customers are encouraged to “annotate” digital texts. For instance, if you’re reading a travel book and want to add your own restaurant recommendations for a particular town, you can easily leave a note “in the margins” of your Copia eBook to share with your friends.

This interactivity enriches the reading experience, providing extra depth, knowledge, and context. Copia customers can also join or start group conversations about the books they’re reading. Copia makes this social reading experience possible not only through their free Copia eReader, but also via free-apps for Mac, PC, iPad, Nook, Sony Reader, Nook, and more! Since you can read Copia eBooks on any platform that accepts the ePub format, you’ll be extending your digital reach to owners of nearly every eReader.
When you publish your eBook through BookBaby, we’ll make it available to purchase on Copia.com. For every sale, you’ll be paid 70% of the list price. Copia keeps 30%, and we keep nothing, nada, zilch, zip, zero, passing 100% of net revenue back to you!
