Bad News for Borders May Give Barnes & Noble a Boost

It may’ve been a long death in the making, but digital technology finally killed Borders Books. In the mid-90′s, the book megastore chose to focus heavily on physical CD and DVD sales right as the digital music revolution was beginning. They expanded their physical locations and farmed out online sales to Amazon.com while Barnes & Noble looked to the future and developed a user-friendly online store and eReader.
